How to create and set up Bybit API key

In this article, we will show you how to create, configure, and connect your Bybit and Bybit Futures API key to the Sparx platform.

Sparx is a bot trading platform that allows you to work with numerous cryptocurrency exchanges.

All trading operations are created and processed by using an exchange API key which is unique for every user. An API key is a safe and reliable way to use a platform because it does not give access to your personal data and prevents any funds management (withdrawals & deposits).

If you are going to create an API key for Sparx, it is important that you do this on a sub account. This way you make sure that the bot can only trade with the funds you give the bot and not with your spot holdings or the funds you yourself trade with.

Bybit Unified Trading Account (UTA)

As Bybit's product line expands, the exchange has introduced an opportunity to unify your accounts for better trade optimization. With the Bybit Unified Trading Account, you will now be able to manage all your assets and funds in one account.

Beware: Dutch users don't need to upgrade their account.

Learn more about Unified Trading in the following Bybit articles:

It is essential to upgrade to the UTA in order to make the bot work. To do that, go to the Bybit Trade or Derivatives page and click on the Upgrade option:

Read through the introduction and details in the pop-up window to gain a better understanding of Unified Trading. Then, click on [Confirm Upgrade] to complete the transition to the UTA:

Warning: With the UTA, you have only one wallet for the spot and futures market. That's why we recommend making a Bybit sub account, so you Isolate the bot.
